Calling something a sotee marks the speaker as someone who lives on the platforms where the fumble happens. State TV anchors do not use this word about themselves; everyone on Iranian Twitter uses it about the state TV anchors. The word's deployment is anti-elite by gravity: officials, influencers, oligarchs, regime spokesmen all give sotees, and Gen Z is the audience cataloging them. There's a small genre of Telegram channels that do nothing but archive the day's sotees from regime-affiliated accounts.
