What it means

قبول (qabul) is a noun borrowed from Arabic قَبُول (qabûl), the verbal noun of the Form I verb قَبِلَ (qabila, to accept or receive), built on the root ق-ب-ل (q-b-l) meaning to face or to receive. In Persian it functions both as a noun meaning acceptance or admission and as a standalone response meaning “okay,” “agreed,” or “deal.” The most common use is in the compound verb قبول کردن (qabul kardan, to accept, to agree, to admit), which covers a wide range of contexts: accepting an offer, admitting a mistake, agreeing to a plan, or passing an exam. Related forms include قبولی (qabuli), the noun meaning a pass result in an exam or an offer of admission, and قبول شدن (qabul shodan), the compound verb meaning to pass an exam or be accepted into a program.
