بخت

بخت is the engine of Hafez. The Divan returns endlessly to بخت, the wheel that turns, the lot drawn at birth that you cannot argue with. Persian classical poetry treats بخت as something half-personal, half-cosmic: the universe has an opinion about you, and the opinion was set early.
