چرا آسمان آبی است؟Why Is the Sky Blue?

آسمان آبی است.

âsemân âbi ast.

The sky is blue.

چرا؟

cherâ؟

Why?

خورشید نور دارد.

khorshid nur dârad.

The sun has light.

نور خورشید سفید است.

nur-e khorshid sefid ast.

Sunlight is white.

اما سفید یک رنگ نیست.

ammâ sefid yek rang nist.

But white is not one colour.

سفید همهٔ رنگ‌هاست.

sefid hame-ye rang-hâst.

White is all the colours.

در نور خورشید همهٔ رنگ‌هاست.

dar nur-e khorshid hame-ye rang-hâst.

In sunlight there are all the colours.

قرمز، نارنجی، زرد، سبز، آبی.

qermez، nârenji، zard، sabz، âbi.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue.

نور به هوا می‌رسد.

nur be havâ miresad.

The light reaches the air.

نور در هوا پخش می‌شود.

nur dar havâ pakhsh mishavad.

The light spreads in the air.

هوا خالی نیست.

havâ khâli nist.

The air is not empty.

در هوا چیزهای خیلی کوچک هست.

dar havâ chizhâ-ye kheyli kuchak hast.

In the air there are very small things.

این چیزها نور را می‌شکنند.

in chizhâ nur râ mishkanand.

These things break the light.

این چیزها خیلی کوچک است.

in chizhâ kheyli kuchak ast.

These things are very small.

هر رنگ یک موج است.

har rang yek mowj ast.

Every colour is a wave.

موج آبی کوتاه است.

mowj-e âbi kutâh ast.

The blue wave is short.

موج قرمز بلند است.

mowj-e qermez boland ast.

The red wave is long.

موج کوتاه زودتر می‌شکند.

mowj-e kutâh zudtar mishkanad.

A short wave breaks sooner.

پس آبی در همهٔ آسمان پخش می‌شود.

pas âbi dar hame-ye âsemân pakhsh mishavad.

So blue spreads across the whole sky.

نور خورشید به ما می‌رسد.

nur-e khorshid be mâ miresad.

The sunlight reaches us.

ما آبی را می‌بینیم.

mâ âbi râ mibinim.

We see blue.

ما رنگ را می‌بینیم.

mâ rang râ mibinim.

We see colour.

و غروب؟

va ghorub؟

And at sunset?

غروب، خورشید پایین است.

ghorub، khorshid pâyin ast.

At sunset the sun is low.

نور راه درازتری دارد.

nur râh-e derâztari dârad.

The light has a longer path.

آبی در راه گم می‌شود.

âbi dar râh gom mishavad.

Blue is lost along the way.

قرمز و نارنجی می‌مانند.

qermez va nârenji mimânand.

Red and orange remain.

برای همین غروب قرمز است.

barâye hamin ghorub qermez ast.

That is why the sunset is red.

پس آسمان رنگ ندارد.

pas âsemân rang nadârad.

So the sky has no colour.

رنگ در چشم ماست.

rang dar cheshm-e mâst.

The colour is in our eye.
