عزیزم

/ azizam /
interjection  ·  my dear

Meaning

معنی
۱

From Arabic عزيز (ʿazīz, "precious, mighty, dear"), root ع ز ز. Used so liberally in Iranian Persian that even shopkeepers and taxi drivers say عزیزم to customers. The phrase عزیز دلم (aziz-e delam, "dear of my heart") is a step warmer. عزیز is also an honorific for elders: مادر عزیز (mâdar-e aziz, "dear mother"). The Quranic name of God العزیز (al-Aziz, "the Mighty") shares the same root, lending the everyday word a gentle dignity.
