آقا

The word entered Persian from Turkic-Mongol ruling layers (compare Ottoman ağa) and stuck as a civilian honorific. In a Tehran bazaar you'll hear آقا shouted dozens of times an hour: vendors hailing browsers, customers calling for a price. It carries warmth, not cold formality. Calling out بفرمایید آقا ("please come, sir") is how shopkeepers pull you in.
