سرکار

The word carries a faint older meaning of "the boss, the one in charge," which still surfaces in expressions like سرکار رفتن (sarkâr raftan, "to go to work") and سرکار گذاشتن (sarkâr gozâshtan, "to fool someone, send them on a wild errand"). The latter is everyday slang, completely separate from the honorific. Context disambiguates without effort: a friend who says دیروز سرکارم گذاشتی ("you sent me on a fool's errand yesterday") is not addressing you formally. In Afghanistan and Tajikistan the honorific use is rarer; سرکار there leans toward the older "boss" sense.
