What it means
نایسس (nâyesis) is the English word “nice” written in Persian script, in its drawn-out, emphatic spoken form (“niiice”). It expresses approval or excitement, exactly like English “nice!” It belongs to the wave of English loans in Gen-Z Persian alongside کرینج (cringe), وایب (vibe), and لیترالی (literally).
How to use it
- عکستو دیدم، نایسس! (akseto didam, nâyesis!) “Saw your photo, nice!”
- نایسس، پس قراره بریم (nâyesis, pas gharâre berim) “Nice, so we are going.”
- وای نایسس شد (vây nâyesis shod) “Oh that turned out great.”
- کارت نایسس بود (kâret nâyesis bud) “Your work was nice.”
Cultural note
Online and texting slang. The doubled س often signals the elongated, enthusiastic “niiice.” The plain spelling نایس also appears.
