What it means
لاگین کردن (login kardan, sometimes spelled لوگین) is the Persian compound verb for logging into an account: email, Instagram, online banking, a VPN dashboard, a state services portal. The first half is the English login (one word, treated as a noun in Persian), the second is کردن (to do). Speakers also use وارد شدن (vâred shodan, to enter) for the same action in slightly more formal contexts; لاگین کردن is what you say in chat.
Compound verb structure
Noun + کردن, same as every other Persian loan-verb. لاگین stays invariant. The platform is usually marked with به (be, to): لاگین کردم به اینستا (login kardam be insta).
- Present continuous: دارم لاگین میکنم (dâram login mikonam, I am logging in)
- Past: لاگین کردم (login kardam, I logged in)
- Negative: نمیتونم لاگین کنم (nemitunam login konam, I cannot log in)
- Imperative: لاگین کن (login kon, log in)
How it gets used

Where it comes from
English loan, naturalized through the mid-2000s spread of Persian-language web services. The Pure Persian alternative وارد شدن (vâred shodan) has Farhangestan backing and shows up on Iranian government sites (وارد حساب کاربری خود شوید, log into your user account). In everyday speech the loan wins; on official portals the calque holds.
Register and feel
A2 vocabulary, universal among internet users. The choice between لاگین کردن and وارد شدن is now a small dialectal flag: the loan signals casual or tech-fluent, the calque signals formal or institutional.
In our voice
Both verbs are correct. Iranians use both depending on where the screen is. Bank app: probably وارد شدن. Twitter DM about a locked account: definitely لاگین کردن.
