What it means
حقوق بازنشستگی (hoquq-e bâzneshastegi) means pension, the regular payment a person receives after retiring from work. It is a compound of two parts: حقوق (hoquq) is borrowed from Arabic, where it is the plural of حق (haq, right or entitlement), and بازنشستگی is a native Persian noun derived from the verb نشستن (to sit) with the prefix باز, meaning to step back and settle. Together they form a formal noun phrase used in employment contracts, government HR documents, and pension fund communications. A shorter synonym heard in speech is مستمری بازنشستگی (mostamari-ye bâzneshastegi), but حقوق بازنشستگی is the dominant official term.
