زیاد carries a slight warning tone in older Persian sayings. Classical proverbs like زیاده‌روی نکن (ziyâde-ravi nakon, "don't go to excess") frame ziâd as a thing to watch out for. Iranians value moderation in speech, food, and feeling, so when an elder tells you something is زیاد, they usually mean "too much," not "plenty." Read the context.
