تاریخ جغرافیایی (târikh-e joghrâfiyâyi) is the academic field of historical geography, meaning the study of how the physical and human geography of a region has shifted across different eras. تاریخ (târikh) is an Arabic loanword meaning history or date, and جغرافی (joghrâfi) entered Persian from the Arabic adaptation of the Greek geographia.
