صبح صادق

Sobh-e Sadeq is doctrine, not journalism. It exists to deliver the Supreme Leader's political line to IRGC commanders and personnel and to attack opposition narratives.
What it means

Sobh-e Sadeq (صبح صادق) is the official weekly newspaper of the Office of the Representative of the Guardian Jurist (the Supreme Leader's appointee) inside the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, published every Monday since 2000.

The mechanics

Print weekly distributed inside IRGC bases and offices, also published online and via Soroush messenger. Editorial content is set by the Office of the Representative of the Guardian Jurist inside the IRGC. Standard sections cover political-ideological commentary, refutation of opposition arguments, analysis of foreign policy aligned with the Supreme Leader's office, and commander interviews. The publication has functioned as a primary archive for outside researchers tracking how Khamenei's positions are translated into force-wide direction.

In our voice

Sobh-e Sadeq is the IRGC's catechism in newspaper form. Every Monday morning, base bookshelves get the official answer to last week's questions, and commanders are expected to brief accordingly. For a foreign reader the value of knowing the name is being able to see what the regime is telling its own enforcers, in writing, the week of any given crisis.

Why this is in the glossary

Because the publication is one of the cleanest available windows into how the office of the Supreme Leader translates political direction into IRGC institutional behaviour.

What it is

صبح صادق (Sobh-e Sadeq) is the official weekly newspaper of the Office of the Representative of the Guardian Jurist within the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the in-house political-ideological organ of the Supreme Leader’s representative inside the IRGC. It has been published every Monday since 2000 and reached its 900th issue in June 2019. Its mission, in its own words, is to provide siyasat-e besirat-bakhshi (political clarification) to IRGC personnel and to refute opposition narratives. The American Enterprise Institute’s archive of IRGC indoctrination materials draws heavily on Sobh-e Sadeq as a primary source for tracking how Khamenei’s political line is translated into commander-level direction inside the force.
