شب‌نشینی

Shab-neshini is woven into Iranian social life. People drop in on relatives without a formal invitation, especially on weekends and during Yalda night, Nowruz visits, and religious holidays. The host serves tea, fruit, sweets, and seeds (آجیل, âjil), and if the visit extends, a full meal. Conversation circles, jokes get retold, someone might play the tar or read a Hafez verse, children fall asleep on cushions while the adults keep talking. The pace is unhurried by design.
