What it means
حکم دادگاه (hokm-e dâdgâh) means a court ruling or judicial verdict. The first part, حکم (hokm), comes from Arabic and carries the meaning of an authoritative decision or order, from the root ح-ک-م (h-k-m) shared with words like حاکم (hâkem, judge or ruler) and حکومت (hokoumat, government). The second part, دادگاه (dâdgâh), is pure Persian: دادگاه is built from داد (dâd, justice) and گاه (gâh, place), so it literally means the place of justice. Together, حکم دادگاه names the formal decision issued by that court. A close synonym in formal writing is رای دادگاه (râ-ye dâdgâh), which also means verdict or judgment.
