روزه
/ ruze /
noun · fasting
Meaning
معنی۱
One of the five pillars of Islam (ارکان دین), required for adult Muslims during the lunar month of Ramadan. Iranians who fast wake before dawn for the سحری (sahari) meal and break the fast at sunset with افطار (eftâr), often dates and tea, then a full meal. In the Islamic Republic, public eating during Ramadan daylight is legally restricted. Many secular Iranians do not fast; the practice remains widespread among observant Shia families.
