پیچیدن

پیچیدن (pichidan) means “to wrap, to twist, or to coil.” A native Persian verb describing spiral or wrapping movement, used for winding roads, wrapping gifts, and twisting body parts.

بوس کردن

بوس کردن (bus kardan) means to kiss or to give a kiss. Both parts are native Persian: bos/bus (kiss) appears throughout classical Persian poetry, and kardan (to do) is the standard Persian light-action verb.

خزیدن

خزیدن (khazidan) means to crawl or to creep on hands and knees in Persian. It is a pure Persian verb used for the slow, low movement of a person, animal, or creature moving close to the ground.

لنگ زدن

لنگ زدن (lang zadan) means to limp or to walk with a hobble in Persian. The word lang, meaning lame, traces to Proto-Iranian roots and is famously preserved in the epithet Timur-e Lang.

لغزیدن

لغزیدن (laghzidan) means to slip, to slide, or to skid on a surface in Persian. It describes unintended loss of grip or traction, whether on ice, a wet floor, or a slippery road.

خم شدن

خم شدن (kham shodan) means to bend over or to bow (physically lean forward) in Persian. Both elements are native Persian: kham means curved or bent, and shodan means to become.

خندیدن

خندیدن (khandidan) means to laugh or to chuckle in Persian. It is one of the most expressive verbs in everyday Farsi, used for everything from a quiet smile to a loud burst of laughter.

قهر کردن

قهر کردن (qahr kardan) means to sulk or to give someone the silent treatment. It pairs the Arabic-origin word qahr with the pure-Persian verb kardan, and it is deeply embedded in Iranian social life.

سست شدن

سست شدن (sost shodan) means to go weak or to become limp. Both parts are pure Persian, and the phrase describes a body or will that has lost its firmness or strength.

نفس گرفتن

نفس گرفتن (nafas gereftan) means to take a breath or to catch one’s breath. It pairs the Arabic-origin word nafas with the pure-Persian verb gereftan.
