اسم

Esm means noun, and also “name.” The Arabic-origin term doubles as the grammar word for noun and the everyday word for someone’s first name.

فعل

Fe’l means verb. The Arabic-origin grammar term used in every Persian classroom and dictionary; the standard label for the action word in a sentence.

نسل

Nasl means generation or lineage. An Arabic-origin word covering both biological descent and the cohort sense of generation, as in “the post-revolution generation.”

نوزاد

Nowzâd means newborn or infant. A pure Persian compound from now (new) and zâd (born), used for babies in the first weeks of life.

سالگی

Sâlegi is the suffix used to state someone’s age, as in panj sâlegi (at age five). Compound of sâl (year) plus the abstract suffix -egi. A1 must-know for any age-related conversation in Persian.

پیری

Piri means old age, roughly 55 onward in Iranian usage, with cultural respect baked in. Built from pir (old) plus the abstract suffix -i. A2 vocabulary that learners need before reading any serious Persian poetry.

میانسالی

Miyânsâli means middle age, roughly 35 to 55, the established-career and parenting-teens phase. Built from miyân (middle) plus sâl (year) plus the abstract suffix -i. B1 life-stage vocabulary.

جوانی

Javâni means youth, roughly ages 18 to 35, the university and early-career stretch. Built from javân (young) plus the abstract suffix -i. A2 foundation vocabulary deeply tied to nostalgia in Persian song lyrics.

نوجوانی

Nojavâni means adolescence, roughly ages 13 to 18, the years of high school and the run-up to the konkur entrance exam. Built from no (new) plus javân (young). B1 life-stage vocabulary.

کودکی

Kudaki means childhood, roughly birth to age 13 in the Iranian cultural frame. Built from kudak (child) plus the abstract suffix -i. A2 foundation vocabulary for talking about life stages.
