What it means
میانسالی (miyânsâli) means “middle age.” Compound of میان (miyân) “middle” plus سال (sâl) “year” plus the abstract suffix ـی. Covers roughly 35 to 55. The person is میانسال (miyânsâl).

When this stage falls
Roughly 35 to 55. The Iranian mileposts: stable career, mortgage on the apartment, kids in dabirestân and then in university, aging parents needing care. Miyânsâli is when many Iranians become the sandwich generation, supporting parents and children at once.
Cultural note
The word is fairly clinical, used in essays, news, and medical contexts more than casual conversation. Most Iranians don’t say “I’m in my miyânsâli” the way an American says “I’m middle-aged”. They’d describe themselves by role: a parent, a manager, a homeowner. The midlife crisis concept (bohrân-e miyânsâli) is borrowed from Western pop psychology and now widely used.
