میوهفروش
/ mive-forush /
noun · fruit-seller
Meaning
معنی۱
Fresh fruit is cheap and ubiquitous in Iran. The country's climate range produces almost everything: pomegranates from Saveh and Yazd, dates from Khuzestan and Bam, sour cherries (آلبالو, âlbâlu) from the northwest, melons from Khorasan, mulberries from Isfahan, citrus from the Caspian provinces, grapes from Malayer, apples from Damavand. The mive-forush is the last link in this chain. Fruit sold by street sellers and shop-front sellers is often picked recently, priced by the kilo, and weighed on hanging scales in front of the customer.
