کفشدوز
/ kafsh-duz /
noun · shoemaker
Meaning
معنی۱
The kafsh-duz is a diminished trade in modern Iran. Mass-imported shoes from China and Turkey, cheap-and-disposable price points, and the decline of full bespoke production have shrunk the profession over the past few decades. The shoemakers who built shoes from scratch were once a respected craft tier, especially in Tabriz and Tehran, and a handful of family-run workshops still operate. The bespoke shoemakers (mostly clustered in older bazaars) make boots, dress shoes, and traditional footwear for clients who order in advance and come back for fittings.
