Currency is the place where هزار meets daily reality. Iranian rials and toman conversions get baroque, and inflation has pushed everyday transactions into the millions. Many Iranian shopkeepers verbally drop the هزار when quoting prices, so when they say "five" for a bottle of water, they mean panj hezâr toman (5,000 toman). Listen for the dropped zeros. It's a survival skill.
