گرما

What it means

گرما (garmâ) means “the heat” as a noun: hot weather, the heat of summer, the heat of an oven. It is the nominal form of گرم (garm, the adjective “hot/warm”).

Use گرما when heat is the subject. Use گرم when hot describes something (hot tea, hot day).

How to use it

• گرما زیاد است (garmâ ziyâd ast) “the heat is intense”
• از گرما خوابم نمی‌برد (az garmâ khâbam nemibarad) “I cannot sleep because of the heat”
