What it means
بلندگو (bolandgu) means “loudspeaker” or “speaker” and is a fully native Persian compound. It is built from two pure Persian elements: بلند (boland), meaning “loud” or “tall,” and گو (gu), which is the imperative or agent form of the verb گفتن (goftan) “to say, to speak.” So بلندگو literally means “loud-speaker” in the most direct compositional sense. The word can refer to a standalone speaker unit, a public address speaker, or the speaker component inside a phone. A common synonym in informal speech is اسپیکر (espikar), borrowed from English, but بلندگو remains the preferred term in formal and broadcast contexts.
