What Works

The price-to-content ratio is fair. For ~$25, you get a complete beginner course with audio. The alphabet section includes stroke-by-stroke writing guides, which most apps skip entirely. Dr. Atoofi's explanations are simple without being condescending.

The MP3 audio adds value that many budget textbooks lack. Hearing correct pronunciation alongside the written text makes a real difference for Persian, where transliteration can mislead you about vowel sounds.

What Doesn't Work for Persian Learners

The book runs out of runway fast. It covers A1 material thoroughly but doesn't push into intermediate territory. Once you finish the book (realistically 2-3 months), you'll need to buy something else. The grammar coverage is introductory only.

The dialogues feel manufactured. "At the airport" and "at the hotel" scenarios are functional but predictable. Real conversation doesn't follow these scripts, and the book doesn't prepare you for the gap between textbook phrases and natural speech.

But plan your next resource before you finish this one, because it won't take you far beyond "salam, hâletun chetore?" (Hello, how are you?). A solid first step, not a complete path.
