ارزانی

ارزانی (arzâni) is a pure Persian word inherited from Middle Persian, meaning cheapness or low prices. It is the direct opposite of گرانی (gerâni) and often heard when prices fall or goods are plentiful.

گرانی

گرانی (gerâni) is a pure Persian abstract noun meaning high prices or costliness. It is formed from the adjective گران (gerân, expensive) and is the everyday word Iranians use to talk about inflation.

بهره

بهره (bahre) is a pure Persian word inherited from Middle Persian “bahrag”, meaning share or portion. In modern usage it most commonly means interest on a loan or bank deposit.

ضرر

ضرر (zarar) is an Arabic-origin word used in everyday Persian to mean loss or financial harm. It is the direct opposite of سود (sud), meaning profit.

سود

سود (sud) means profit or interest on money. A native Persian word with roots in Middle Persian, it covers both business profit and bank interest, and sits in contrast to ziân (loss).

طلب

طلب (talab) means money owed to you, a claim or receivable. Borrowed from Arabic, it is the mirror image of bedehi: where bedehi is what you owe, talab is what others owe you.

بدهی

بدهی (bedehi) means debt, the state of owing money or something else to another person. A pure Persian word built from the verb dâdan (to give), used in everyday speech and formal finance.

وام

وام (vâm) is the Persian word for a loan, money borrowed with the expectation of repayment. An ancient native word, it appears in classical poetry and in modern bank branches alike.

قسط

قسط (qest) means installment, a single payment in a series. Borrowed from Arabic, it is the standard word in Persian for buying on credit or paying off a loan in parts.

پس‌انداز

پس‌انداز (pas-andâz) is the everyday Persian word for savings, money set aside for the future. A native Persian compound used in banks, households, and casual conversation.
