What it means
ارزانی (arzâni) means cheapness, low prices, or the state of being affordable. It is a pure Persian word, inherited from Middle Persian arzân. The root adjective is ارزان (arzan), meaning cheap or inexpensive, and the suffix -i turns it into an abstract noun. The word is the direct opposite of گرانی (gerâni). Beyond economics, ارزانی can also be used in a slightly literary sense to mean abundance or generosity, as in a phrase like “لطفت را ارزانی دار” (lotfat ra arzani dar, “bestow your kindness”).

The phrase “ارزانی یافت نمیشه” (arzani yaft nemi-she, “cheapness is nowhere to be found”) reflects a common sentiment. Arzani can also appear in classical poetry and religious speech with the meaning of generosity or grace, showing how economic and spiritual concepts have long overlapped in Persian usage.
