مدرک

مدرک (madrak) means document or credential, and also degree or qualification. Borrowed from Arabic, root د-ر-ک (d-r-k, to reach or attain). One word covers both a paper that proves identity and a diploma that proves achievement.

مدارک

مدارک (madârek) means documents or papers, the official kind you carry to appointments. It is the Arabic broken plural of مدرک (madrak). In Iran you will hear this word every time someone asks to see your paperwork.

کاغذبازی

کاغذبازی (kâghaz-bâzi) means red tape or paper-shuffling. It is a compound: کاغذ (paper) is borrowed from Sogdian, ultimately tracing back to Old Chinese, while بازی (playing, game) is pure Persian. Together they name the frustrating theater of pointless paperwork.

بروکراسی

بروکراسی (borokrâsi) means bureaucracy. It is borrowed from French bureaucratie, which blends French bureau (desk, office) and Greek kratos (power, rule). In Persian it names the whole system of official procedures and red tape.

اداری

اداری (edâri) means administrative or official in a bureaucratic sense. It derives from اداره, which comes from Arabic إدارة. If a process feels formal, slow, or paper-heavy, edâri is the word Iranians reach for.

گارانتی

گارانتی (gârânti) means guarantee or warranty in a commercial sense. A French loanword that entered Persian during the Pahlavi era and is now the standard colloquial term for product warranties.

تقلبی

تقلبی (taqallobi) means fake or counterfeit: used for anything forged, imitated, or not genuine. Colloquial and widely used in everyday Persian for bogus products and dishonest dealings.

کالا

کالا (kâlâ) means commodity or goods: any tradeable product or merchandise. A high-frequency Persian word used in commerce, economics, and everyday shopping talk.
