What it means
جوجو (juju) is Persian baby talk for cutie or little chick. It comes from جوجه (juje), the ordinary word for a baby chick, softened into a pet name the way English speakers might say chickadee to a child. People use it warmly with babies, toddlers, and pets, not as a real animal name but as an affectionate nickname.
How to use it
- جوجوی من (juju-ye man) “my little cutie”
- سلام جوجو (salâm juju) “hi cutie”
- چقدر جوجو شدی (cheghadr juju shodi) “you have gotten so cute”
- جوجو بیا اینجا (juju biâ injâ) “cutie, come here”
Cultural note
Persian has a whole layer of baby-talk vocabulary built by doubling or softening ordinary words, and جوجو is one of the most common examples. It gets used across generations, so a grandparent, a parent, or an older sibling might all call the same baby جوجو. The word carries no formal register at all, it belongs strictly to home and family speech, never to writing or business Persian.
