گوشواره

گوشواره (gushvâreh) means earrings. A pure Persian word built from گوش (ear) and the suffix وارَه, it is one of the oldest native words for jewellery in the language.

کراوات (kerâvât) is the Persian word for necktie, borrowed from French cravate, which itself traces back to Croatian soldiers in seventeenth-century France.

ژاکت

ژاکت (zhâket) means cardigan or knitted jacket in Persian, borrowed from the French word jaquette. It refers specifically to a soft, often knitted outer layer.

کت

کت (kot) means jacket or blazer in Persian, borrowed from the French word cotte. It is the standard everyday term for a structured outer jacket worn over a shirt.

لباس

لباس (lebâs) is the everyday Persian word for clothing or clothes, borrowed from Arabic. It covers everything from a single garment to a full outfit.

جودو

جودو (judo) is the Persian form of judo, the Japanese grappling martial art and Olympic sport. It entered Persian directly from Japanese and is one of Iran’s most decorated Olympic disciplines.

کاراته

کاراته (kârâteh) is the Persian form of karate, the Japanese martial art. The word entered Persian from Japanese and refers to the striking discipline now practiced widely in Iranian schools and clubs.

وقت اضافه

وقت اضافه (vaqt-e ezâfeh) means extra time or overtime in Persian sports. Both components come from Arabic, and the phrase describes the additional period played when a match is tied after regular time.

نیمه

نیمه (nimeh) means half in Persian, and in sports it specifically refers to one half of a match. It is a native Persian word used across football, basketball, and handball contexts.

داوری

داوری (dâvari) means refereeing or judgment in Persian. It is a native Persian word built from داور (judge or referee) and describes both sports officiating and formal legal judgment.
