What it means
استاتوس گذاشتن (estâtos gozâshtan) means “to put up a status,” that is, to post a temporary photo, video, or text update visible to your contacts on WhatsApp or Telegram. It is a compound verb built from the English loanword استاتوس (estâtos, “status”) and the native Persian light verb گذاشتن (gozâshtan, “to put, to place”). The combination makes it a mixed-origin phrase. A near synonym in more formal or general contexts is “بهروزرسانی گذاشتن” (be-ruzerâsâni gozâshtan), though that sounds technical and is rarely used in speech.
